We consistently hear employers today talk about hiring graduates that have 21st century skills. In a recent Forbes Magazine survey of 100 of our nation’s top CEO’s, the top three skills they look for in hiring people are: The ability to work in a team, The ability to make decisions and solve problems, and The ability to communicate. The New Tech High School model focuses on teaching these skills and more. Twenty-six states in the U.S. now have a New Tech High School. Regionally, South Bend, and Rochester, Indiana as well as Niles, Michigan have New Tech High Schools. This week we highlight the New Tech Model.
