PBS KIDS Michiana – WNIT3, Channel 34.3, is partnering with PNC Grow Up Great and the South Bend Cubs to present Daniel Tiger’s “Be My Neighbor Day” on Tuesday, August 17, at Four Winds Field. Gates will open for registrants only at 5:00 p.m. Gates open to the general public for the baseball game at 6:00 p.m.

“Be My Neighbor Day” will include pre-game activities and giveaways followed by a South Bend Cubs baseball game vs. Quad Cities at 7:05 p.m. Families will be able to enjoy dinner at the picnic area and Daniel Tiger will appear on the field prior to and during the game. Due to COVID restrictions, Daniel Tiger will not be available for photos with the children, however, we will have two Daniel Tiger themed areas for photo opportunities.

All families are encouraged to bring one canned food item per person to benefit the Northern Indiana Food Bank and help Daniel to inspire all children to be a good neighbor.

“We are excited to partner with PNC Grow Up Great and the South Bend Cubs on this celebration of summer with our friend Daniel Tiger,” said WNIT Associate General Manager Steve Funk. “We look forward to a fun, family evening with gift bags for the kids and a great time for all at Four Winds Field. We are encouraging all attendees to bring one item of canned food per person for the Food Bank, as a great way to teach children about giving back, a primary lesson of Daniel Tiger.”

For more information on this free event, go to www.wnit.org and click on the “Be My Neighbor Day” link in the left rail. Limit five tickets per family, while supplies last. Families must register with WNIT by August 12 to attend the pre-game activities.
