Economic Outlook - Technical and Community Colleges
It has been repeatedly written and stated that nearly 75% of all jobs in the united states by 2015 will require at least a two year degree or some type of advanced certification. The role of career and technical education in our k-12 system, as well as the increased importance of community colleges will play a large part in the success of preparing our students for the jobs of tomorrow. Ivy Tech State College continues to grow and is the largest community college in the state of indiana in terms of enrollment and is ranked third nation-wide among community colleges. K-12 school systems all across Indiana are growing as well in the number of students interested in their programs. Stem education is also playing a large role in career and technical education.
