Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority's mission is to make sure that young minorities in the Michiana area, are continuing to break generational curses, by pursuing higher education. They do this with their scholarship cotillion that teaches, young ladies & their cotillion escorts, the importance of their value in society, as well as how to build vital connections for their futures. The ladies are then able to contend for scholarships from the sorority, towards their academic advancement.

John Suave is an artist from the Michiana area who rose to prominence in 2012, presenting 16 of his sculptures for the "I Am the Greatest" project at ARS Gallery. This project has since been in continuance, spreading inspiration and creativity, to the community, through the gallery's workshops.
