Education Counts Michiana - Food Sovereignty
Segment - Food Sovereignty
Food sovereignty represents the right of peoples to control their land and food production. At the Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center, members of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi and Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi shared knowledge of culturally significant food and other natural resources. The event created opportunities for community members to learn about food sovereignty and take part in shared healing.
