This week on Education Counts Michiana we learn about the Bremen Library's reading challenge of 100 Books Before High School. We meet the Ivy Tech Dual Credit Teacher of the year. We learn how Citywide Classroom is expanding to offer digital equity to 200 additional families at School City of Mishawaka. We also follow up with 574 Stories initiative and witness the anthology created through the project.

Ivy Tech Dual Credit Teacher of the Year
Ivy Tech's Regional Dual Credit Teacher of the Year, Tiffany Reddick, is a local Career and Technical Education teacher who has built amazing Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain, and work-based learning programs. Her family's unfolding story is also exceptional as her son, Nah'Shon Williams, not only graduated with an Ivy Academy Associate Degree (Ivy Tech) as a high school Senior, but also was named by the Posse Foundation for a full ride scholarship to Purdue University.

Citywide Classroom - School City of Mishawaka
South Bend Connectivity Coalition partners, South Bend Community School Corporation and enFocus, are excited to report Citywide Classroom has provided free at-home solutions to over 4,200 South Bend students without adequate internet connection at SBCSC schools. The Citywide Classroom program is now expanding to School City of Mishawaka and aims to connect an additional 200+ students and their families.

100 Books Before High School
Bremen Public Library has launched the100 Books Before High School challenge. The program not only prepares middle school students for high school but helps develop a life-long love of reading.

574 Stories Anthology
574 Stories was a one-week creative writing workshop launched in South Bend. The idea is based on the 826 Valencia Project. Students discover the significance of writing about "place". An anthology of 574 Stories was unveiled in September.
