Students are getting career training on site through a program called AncillaWorks. Translate For Toddlers is helping expand vocabulary and social justice through reading.       Translate for toddlers is much more than just teaching toddlers a new language.Though they offer translated books, translation workshops, and bilingual readings in Spanish and French, this IU South Bend based organization also benefits adults. By translating books and comics to different languages, these translators are not only refining their language skills, but they are also using their skills to translate other things as well. The mission for Translate for Toddlers is to not only spread the awareness of other countries cultures but also to inform us on their shared societal issues.

    Education Counts Michiana explores educational initiatives in our regional. We seek programs that are succeeding in pre-k, k-12, post high school, college and lifelong learning. This week we feature the Indiana Youth Institute and how they are training educators. We spotlight the Youth Education Series presented by Premier Arts that is exposing students to live theater. Grief and trauma are addressed in the Art Angels program at the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. Project Matters teaches third grade students through adults about launching and growing a small business.
