Capital Campaign Officer

Do you love connecting philanthropists with worthy causes? If so, we’d love to talk to you. PBS Michiana-WNIT in South Bend, IN is actively seeking a Capital Campaign Officer. You’ll work to generate revenue for PBS Michiana-WNIT’s 50th anniversary capital campaign by developing strategy and managing all aspects of major, planned and capital giving through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of existing and prospective donors.

As Capital Campaign Officer, you will

  • Manage a current donor portfolio of 100-150 donors (totaling approx. $300,000 in current giving, as well as prospects) to long-term and sustained growth.
  • Create and implement individual, private foundation, and corporate major gifts and planned gift strategies in collaboration with the Director of Development.
  • Act as primary relationship manager with assigned lead donors in WNIT’s “Directors’ Circle” category.
  • Manage relationship process for individual, private foundation, and corporate major donors including prospect development, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Utilize Wealth Engine (donor prospect tool) and Allegiance (database management) to track donor potential and history.
  • Plan and implement funding campaigns, events and activities for major gift donors.
  • Establish relationships with estate planners and financial representatives.
  • Identify and cultivate donors capable of higher giving levels, moving mid-level gifts to major gifts.
  • Plan and execute major gift materials, including campaign collateral, proposals, stewardship materials, events and recognition.
  • Monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activity to achieve revenue goals.
  • Report relationship management activity using CRM including identification, qualification, cultivation activity, solicitation and stewardship of prospective and current major donors.
  • Maintain a regular presence in the viewing area at events and activities, with an emphasis on those where donors and prospective donors area available for stewardship and networking.
  • Manage planning, projections, and reporting on capital campaign projects.
  • Assist with other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well with colleagues, donors and outside organizations
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

Desirable Traits:

  • Self-directed with ability to manage time, schedule and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with local/regional donation trends, with an emphasis on St. Joseph and Elkhart Counties
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Director of Development, General Manager, and board members in donor cultivation, stewardship and solicitation

Skills and Experience:

  • 5-8 years fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of trends in major giving
  • Experience managing capital campaigns
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Education:

College degree or equivalent experience

Compensation:

$30-$35/hour, 20-26 hours per week
