Education Counts this week features stories about seeing, saving, studying and searching. Kindness to Prevent Blindness provides prescription glasses to children at school to prepare them for learning. Project Impact provides financial literacy classes teaching students to help make their money work for them. Proteus is taking students from farm labor and placing them in professional internships to set them on career tracks in their desired field. Students at Cassopolis Public Schools are earning dual credit and certifications in high school.

This is the second episode looking at some of the best programs and initiatives from education we featured over the last year. We selected 16 stories from our region. In this follow up episode, we spotlight eight stories from some of the best ideas in pre-school, k-12, post high school, college, continuing education and lifelong learning. In this episode, we visit a Kinderforest and learn about Jobs for Michigan's Graduates, a state-wide program that started at Benton Harbor High School. We also look at the Tinkergarten concept, the value of burning off energy in the classroom, Global Game Jam, the Innovation Academy, Noon Time Talks in Elkhart and learning science through a weather balloon launch.
