Becoming a master of your own finances is an important step towards independence and stability. Lacasa, in Goshen has a set of five classes known as the Master It Series. Participants learn how to best manage their money in areas like student loan debt and home ownership.

Imagine leaving your home and finding yourself in a place where nothing seems familiar. This is the reality for refugees who have made their way to the United States. Neighbor to Neighbor works to connect these people with others from the Michiana area to help them learn about their new surroundings.

"My Dollar, Your Dollar" is a book written by Latoya Holmes, an entrepreneur with a deep passion for children. She wants to instill in parents, that there are other valuable things to teach a child aside from the basics. Investments and trading are two things that she covers in her children's book that she hopes will help their futures and give them a head start towards acquiring generational wealth.

Empowerment Zone
The South Bend Empowerment Zone is an organization that sees where improvements need to be made towards a child's education, and they are doing what it takes to ensure that their is a progressive flow from elementary to middle and beyond. They do so by providing much needed love, support, and empowerment to the families that attend their schools.

Broods of cicadas only emerge once every 17 years. This summer Brood X will be emerging across multiple states. Cicada Safari is an app designed to let anyone with a smart phone document these cicadas and help scientists study these noisy insects.

Crossroads United Way's Page the Puppy is an initiative that is designed to engage families and help improve the skill development of children entering school. Page is the star of a series of four bilingual books in English and Spanish and activity kits that are being distributed at no cost to incoming Goshen Community Schools kindergarteners and their families.
