  Education Counts presents best practices in education. This week we explore an online class in Plymouth whose teacher and students are using math in the kitchen to prepare food together. What does it take to become Youth of the Year at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor? Ask TeKeidra Masters. She received the honor. Music Together has created a way for parents and young children to bond through music remotely. The summer reading program at Elkhart Public Library kicks off and now offers online innovation.

So, they are continuing their Summer Reading Program, with even larger prizes this year, and an app to keep children and teens up to date with their progress. However, for those involved, reading was something that they did freely, without any need for an incentive. The Elkhart Summer Reading Challenge is just a way for them to further challenge themselves, and for them to have a reason to keep doing what they love.
