Being chosen as Youth of The Year is one of the highest honors that a member could receive at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor. In order to be acknowledged members must embody the characteristics of a leader, both within the club and in the outside world. 17 year old high school senior TeKeidra Masters did just that, all while balancing jobs, sports, community involvement, all while enduring teenage growing pains. She tells us how she accomplished the feat, what it means to her, future plans, and how others can achieve what she did.

The Elkhart Public Library's mission is to keep the spirit of reading alive with it's reading community. So, they are continuing their Summer Reading Program, with even larger prizes this year, and an app to keep children and teens up to date with their progress. However, for those involved, reading was something that they did freely, without any need for an incentive. The Elkhart Summer Reading Challenge is just a way for them to further challenge themselves, and for them to have a reason to keep doing what they love.
