This week on Education Counts Michiana we learn about the Bremen Library's reading challenge of 100 Books Before High School. We meet the Ivy Tech Dual Credit Teacher of the year. We learn how Citywide Classroom is expanding to offer digital equity to 200 additional families at School City of Mishawaka. We also follow up with 574 Stories initiative and witness the anthology created through the project.

Reading proficiency is such a part of learning. This week Education Counts highlights literacy. We start by looking at a program that instills the love of reading called 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. La Casa de Amistad is working to keep students reading at home and engaged in learning. Berrien RESA has a literacy coaching program for students in Berrien County. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is helping families build personal libraries without the barrier of cost.
