Shakespeare.nd.eduThe 50/50 Shakespeare Project was created by Vanessa and Peter to create gender equality in the workplace of Shakespeare's plays. This is done by taking a different approach to these historic works. Hamlet 50/50 makes its debut at Notre Dame August 15-27 and it was a challenge to take a play that had only 8.5 percent of the lines for the female character and rework that to where they had an even 50 percent of the lines. Vanessa and Peter talk about the reasons why they felt this was so important and the approach they took in their efforts.
