Episode #1529 - July 16th, 2026
This week on Experience Michiana, we share a beautiful tribute to a beloved member of our public media family, celebrate a Broadway classic in Elkhart, and visit a welcoming community hub in Warsaw. First, we gather for a heartfelt celebration of a life that touched so many in our region. We learn about UZIMA! Drum & Dance's special tribute performance, "Ndiyo ya Milele" (Swahili for "Eternal Yes"), taking place at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. This moving concert honors the legacy, joy, and passion of our dear friend and longtime Experience Michiana host, Kelly Burgét. Michelle and Kelly's daughter, Zoë, join us to share what this deeply meaningful performance represents and how Kelly's vibrant spirit continues to inspire our community through art. Next, luck is a lady in Elkhart! Premier Arts is bringing the Broadway classic "Guys & Dolls" to the historic stage at The Lerner Theatre. Courtney catches up with some of the talented cast members to chat about what makes this high-energy, timeless musical such a crowd favorite. From show-stopping dance numbers to classic tunes, get a sneak peek at this incredible production the whole family will love. Finally, Dave travels to Warsaw, Indiana, to visit The Gathering Place—an inspiring outreach program from Fellowship Missions designed to build connection and community. Dave tours this welcoming, free space that is completely open to the public, offering a place for neighbors to grab a cup of coffee, create art, host group meetings, or simply find a sense of belonging.
