One of the places Kelly has always wanted to visit was Lavender Hill Farm in Niles, MI. She and Courtney made the trip and discovered a scenic and peaceful setting with lavender you can pick yourself. They also have a gift shop filled with lavender products, many made right there.

This Friday there will be a big celebration in downtown Nappanee as Friday Fest is back July 9th. This month the focus is on the arts. Irish Dave had a chance to talk with Jessica Flores from Visit Nappanee to find out just what visitors can expect to experience when they visit. Farming has been a part of this area since settlers first moved here. And for so long farming looked the same. You worked the land and produced a harvest. But places like Pure Green Farms is starting to change the way we look at farming. On the South Side of South Bend they have a 3.5 acre greenhouse facility raising greens for local restaurants and grocery stores. It’s a completely organic system and it doesn’t have to be shipped across the country, so it saves on fuel and freshness.
