Across the Michiana area schools are taking part in a new initiative that recognizes students for their commitment to their work in the classroom and in the community. As part of the Governor's Work Ethic Certificate Program, students are given this award if they can prove that they have employable skills that local employers are looking for. This Criteria includes having limited absences from school, getting good grades, and being involved with the community.

With it's new home at the Dr. Dane A. Miller Science Complex at Grace College, the Lilly Center for Lakes and Streams can bring its educational message to a larger audience. K-12 students will be able to have a hands on learning experience and have fun while learning about the regions local aquatic life. College students also are able to take part as part of the center's research team.
