On this week\'s episode, we look at how high school students are learning about careers in the construction trades by visiting work sites. We follow up with the Inspired Leadership Initiative to see how fellows are applying knowledge beyond the classroom at the University of Notre Dame. Ivy Tech is creating a safety net for students through their new Pod 7 program. The AirZoo Museum in Kalamazoo is teaching students about science and history in its multi-disciplinary approach with hands-on education and restoration.

This is why groups have been working together to put on special job fairs highlighting the different construction trades. High school students got the chance to see first hand what members of the constructions industry do while working on job sites.

    At the Air Zoo Museum, students get to be involved with an exciting new project, restoring World War II aircrafts found in Lake Michigan to their former glory. By using a hands on approach to learning the museum hopes this will provide a fun way to learn about history and inspire students to join the aviation industry.

    Life happens and there is nothing you can do to stop that, but Ivy Tech doesn't want life to stop its students from going to school and reaching their goals. In response to this issue, the school launched its Pod 7 program to help provide assistance to students in need. This Programs helps provide things like food, daycare, financial assistance, and other resources to help students cope when life happens.
