Just by venturing around the Midwest area, we are aware of the lush lands and various different wildlife that inhabit our home. However rarely do we get to unplug and experience it all first hand. The Junior Indiana Master Naturalist Course opens its' doors, to home schooled students, giving them an enriching experience with nature and all it has to offer.

Education students from IU South Bend are given the opportunity to get hands on nature training at the Prairie Winds Nature Farm. Thanks to the efforts of Professor Terri Hebert, the students of the her EDUC-328 Sciende Methods class have are able to T get their hands dirty to see how they can make use of what they learn to teach their future students.

Getting outside and up close to nature is an important part of being a kid. At Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve, children are able to get hands on learning through their Pond Study class. The kids aren't just learning about wetlands in a classroom, they're right in the thick of it and finding the various critters who live there.
