The 100 Black Men of Greater South Bend hosted an African American History Challenge for high school students in South Bend. Students from Rise Up Academy and John Adams High School attended the challenge with the hopes of moving forward to the national conference in Las Vegas. In June, four students from South Bend Adams will compete at the annual Brace B. Godfrey, Jr. African American History Challenge which is part of the National 100 Black Men Conference.

Lake Michigan College’s Wine and Viticulture program allows students to explore the process of growing and selling wine. From growing fruit in vineyards, learning about the appropriate biochemistry, and filtering and bottling a final product, students are well equipped to enter a career in the wine industry.

Cuentos is a Spanish storytime program at Goshen Public library that promotes biliteracy in the community. Children coming from bilingual households are often only encouraged to speak English in their schools. Goshen Public Library hopes to represent the Latino community in their programming with Cuentos and additional community outreach.
