La Casa de Amistad in South Bend is doing its part to provide students with some of the extra help they may need. Primarily focused on ELL students, Brilla is an after school program where kids can get the one-on-one attention they need to make sure they succeed in their daily school lives.        

Students at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor are able to get hands on training and earn a wage while still going to school. The Whirlpool Earn and Learn program matches up those students with local business partners for a summer internship that can even lead to future employment.

Everyone knows what it feels like to need a quick pick me up. Instead of reaching for a cup of coffee, pick up the phone and dial the Peptoc Hotline. The students of West Side Elementary School in Healdsburg, California along with their art teachers created a series of pep talks geared towards making callers feel better and ready to face whatever challenges comes their way.

Many of the institutions and ideas of the modern day can trace their roots back to the middle ages. A partnership between The Medieval Institute at the University of Notre Dame and John Adams High School is helping to bring history alive. We take a look at some of the ways those high school students have been able to learn the lasting impressions the middle ages have made.

Becoming a foreign exchange student is an opportunity to learn about a new culture by attending high school or college in a foreign country. Becoming a student host is an opportunity for parents to welcome those students into their own home and provide a family experience for those students. The experience enriches the students and families.

Soup of Success is an intensive 20-week educational program which addresses the whole woman - mentally, physically, and spiritually. Empowerment is at the core of this Elkhart program which helps participants find their voices, discover their direction, establish their goals, and overcome obstacles.
