Women-owned firms now account for approximately 40% of all privately held firms. nearly 1 in every 5 firms with revenue of $1 million or more are women owned businesses. Between 1997 and 2012, the number of businesses in the united states increased by 37%, the number of women owned businesses during the same time period grew 54%, one-and-a-half times the national average. women owned businesses are estimated to have a 75% success ratio compared to 52% of men owned businesses.
